AK Party MYK Meeting Discusses Legislative Calendar for a Terror-Free Turkey
The AK Party MYK, gathered under the chairmanship of President Erdoğan, evaluated the process for a terror-free Turkey and the parliamentary calendar.
The legislative calendar under the heading of a terror-free Turkey was brought to the table at the AK Party Central Executive Board meeting. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan instructed his aides to ensure the legislation is passed before Parliament recesses.
Parliamentary Calendar and Process
At the AK Party MYK meeting held under the chairmanship of President Erdoğan, legislative regulations within the scope of the terror-free Turkey process were evaluated in detail.
During the meeting, the parliamentary calendar was put on the table, and the sequence of the laws to be enacted and the processes for their arrival at the General Assembly were discussed.
Instructions from Erdoğan to His Aides
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan gave clear messages and instructions to his aides during the meeting to accelerate the process.
Erdoğan emphasized that it is of great importance to finalize the legislative regulation before Parliament closes and called for the process to be completed and finished.
Interparty Negotiations in Parliament
As part of the legislative steps, coordinating group deputy chairmen are planned to come together in Parliament.
The draft proposal prepared by AK Party is expected to be shared with other parties and negotiations to be conducted at this meeting.
Scope and Details of the Regulation
AK Party sources particularly emphasize that the prepared legislative regulation by no means carries the character of an amnesty.
It is stated that with the new regulation, critical thresholds in laying down arms will be defined and mechanisms regarding the process will be established.
Monitoring and Harmonization Mechanisms
The monitoring of the disarmament process will be carried out by MIT and TAF, and the crossing of the threshold will be declared by a presidential decree.
It was also stated that judicial control conditions and social harmonization topics for PKK members who will return to the country will be included within the scope of the law.
