Readiness of Dental Professionals to Adopt Artificial Intelligence for Cone-Beam Computed Tomography Interpretation Examined

A newly conducted cross-sectional survey evaluated in detail the adaptation and acceptance levels of 380 dental practitioners regarding the artificial intelligence-based interpretation of cone-beam computed tomography data.
Scope and Methodology of the Research
A total of 380 dentists participated in the study conducted within the Department of Prosthodontics at K. M. Shah Dental College and Hospital in India.
A structured questionnaire form was used to measure participants' attitudes regarding artificial intelligence adaptation, and this form demonstrated a high internal consistency reliability coefficient.
Factors Increasing the Tendency Toward Artificial Intelligence
In line with the findings, younger participants aged forty and under, professionals with postgraduate education, and practitioners working in the academic field exhibited higher artificial intelligence readiness scores.
Furthermore, it was determined that dentists who had previously received training in artificial intelligence were significantly more willing and ready to embrace this technology.
Clinical Experience and Regression Analysis Results
According to the results of the multiple linear regression analysis, having more clinical experience emerged as a factor that decreased the artificial intelligence readiness score.
In contrast, high academic qualification, an academic working environment, and past artificial intelligence training stood out among the positive predictors explaining twenty-five percent of the variance in the readiness rate.
