AHESEN's Call to the Ministry of Health Regarding Family Health Center Regulation and Employment

The new regulatory arrangement prepared by the Ministry of Health for Family Health Centers jeopardizes the employment of thousands of midwives, nurses, and medical secretaries working in these centers. The Family Medicine Employees Union has called on the Ministry for an urgent regulation.

Risks Brought by the New Regulation

The Ministry of Health's new regulatory arrangement regarding Family Health Centers has brought serious concerns regarding the employment of additional personnel working in the centers to the agenda.

Ahmet Kandemir, Chairman of the Family Medicine Employees Union, stated that the sustainability of the grouping system applied in the centers could be endangered with the new regulation.

Removal of Flexible Working Hours

The removal of flexible working hours in Family Health Centers with the new regulation could negatively affect the current system that enables the employment of additional personnel in Group A, B, and C centers.

It was stated that additional allowances could be cut if the criteria regarding working hours cannot be met and that this situation will create problems.

Thousands of Employees May Become Unemployed

It was warned that thousands of healthcare workers, primarily midwives, nurses, and medical secretaries, could become unemployed during this process.

It was emphasized that a new regulation in which family physicians and other healthcare workers will not be victimized must be urgently implemented.

Service Quality and Current Expenses

It was stated that the inability to sustain the employment of additional personnel will directly and negatively affect the quality of service provided in the centers and citizens' access to healthcare services.

In addition, it was pointed out that current expense payments remain insufficient to cover increases in rent, fuel, electricity, consumables, and personnel expenses.

Employment Warning for September

The union warned that a serious employment problem could be experienced in Family Health Centers in September due to the new regulation.

It was requested from the Ministry of Health that the regulation be re-evaluated and a new model ensuring employment be established.
