Manchester City has announced that it has signed 18-year-old Moroccan midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi from French club Lille on a 5-year deal.

Transfer Details and Process

In an official statement from the Manchester City club, it was reported that a 5-year contract has been signed with Moroccan national footballer Ayyoub Bouaddi, subject to international transfer clearance.

It was stated that this agreement will keep the young midfielder at the Etihad Stadium until 2031 and that the cost of the transfer has reached a significant scale.

Transfer Fee and Media Reflections

According to reports in the British media, Manchester City transferred Bouaddi from Lille for a transfer fee reaching up to 86 million pounds.

The Player's Career and National Team Success

The young footballer managed to draw attention last season by making 30 appearances in Ligue 1 for Lille.

Bouaddi, who made his debut for the Morocco National Team last May, also played in the 2026 FIFA World Cup and was in the starting lineup for five of the six matches in which Morocco advanced to the quarterfinals.

Midfield Reconstruction

Manchester City entered a process of rebuilding its midfield following the departures of Rodri, Bernardo Silva, and Tijjani Reinders from the team.

Bouaddi became the club's second major midfield reinforcement of the summer transfer window, following the transfer of Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest.
