Annual Health Check-ups Made Mandatory for Students
With a new circular published by the Ministry of Health, a regulation has been introduced to monitor the health status of kindergarten, primary, and secondary school students.
In line with the new guidelines from the Ministry of Health, kindergarten, primary, and secondary school students are now required to undergo a health check-up once a year at the beginning of each academic year.
Scope of the New Regulation
The circular published by the Ministry of Health aims to safeguard the health status of children in preschool educational institutions as well as primary and secondary school students.
With this regulation, health screenings of students at the beginning of the academic year have become an official obligation, and the procedures for implementation have been clarified.
Frequency and Location of Health Check-ups
According to the published circular, students' health check-ups will be conducted regularly once a year at the beginning of each school year.
Examination procedures will take place directly within educational institutions, at municipal-level health centers, or at authorized health examination and treatment centers.
Objectives of Health Screenings
The primary purpose of these checks is to comprehensively assess the initial health status of students during the educational period.
Additionally, it aims to detect common health problems and diseases in school-aged children at an early stage.
Referral and Follow-up Processes
As a result of these health checks, potential disabilities or illnesses can be identified at an early stage, allowing necessary precautions to be taken.
Where deemed necessary, students are referred to specialized medical institutions for further examination and treatment, and their progress is monitored.
