Asu Kaya Strongly Reacts to HÜDA PAR's Women's Hospitals Proposal

YENİ Party Women's Branch Chair Asu Kaya strongly reacted to HÜDA PAR's call for the establishment of gynecology and maternity hospitals where only female staff would serve. Kaya stated that this approach is incompatible with scientific principles and the understanding of equal citizenship.

Debate on Segregation in Healthcare Services

HÜDA PAR Family Affairs Head Aynur Sülün had requested the establishment of hospitals staffed exclusively by women so that women would feel secure during gynecology and childbirth processes.

Responding to this call, YENİ Party Women's Branch Chair Asu Kaya emphasized that protecting women's right to privacy is a fundamental right, but this cannot be used as a justification for gender-based segregation.

Medical Science and Physician Preferences

Speaking as a physician, Asu Kaya stated that medical science is not conducted through gender stereotypes, but rather on the basis of scientific knowledge, expertise, and ethical principles.

Kaya expressed that women must be able to make their own free choices regarding receiving services from a female or male physician, and that respecting these choices is essential.

Women's Rights and Living Spaces

Stating that HÜDA PAR's policies on education, health, and family must be evaluated as a whole, Kaya argued that narrowing living spaces does not mean protecting women.

She noted that true protection would be possible by guaranteeing women's rights to education, employment, healthcare, and a life free from violence.

Kaya continued her reaction by stating that health policies cannot be built upon assumptions and must instead rely on concrete scientific research.
