Balkan Countries Health Tourism and Economic Cooperation Summit Held in Ankara
At the summit held in Ankara, economic relations, health tourism potential, and joint investments between Turkey and Balkan countries were discussed.
The summit, held in Ankara in partnership with the Confederation of Industry and Commerce and the International Health Tourism Confederation, brought together diplomats and the business world to evaluate economic cooperation, trade relations, and health tourism opportunities between Turkey and Balkan countries.
Purpose and Participants of the Summit
Organized in cooperation with the Confederation of Industry and Commerce (SANKON) and the International Health Tourism Confederation (SATKON), the summit aimed to improve economic and commercial relations between the two sides.
The program in Ankara was attended by SANKON Chairman Feridun Cevahiroğlu, SATKON Chairman Ali Altuntaş, Ankara embassies of Balkan countries, diplomats, bureaucrats, business people, and academics.
Sectors Evaluated
During the meeting, topics such as health tourism, medical products, medical devices, geriatrics, elderly care, technology, informatics, and artificial intelligence were discussed in detail.
In addition, joint investment opportunities in import, export, agriculture, textiles, food, education, defense industry, tourism, and finance sectors were laid on the table.
SANKON's Evaluations
SANKON Chairman Feridun Cevahiroğlu stated that relations with the Balkans are not handled solely within a diplomatic framework and that historical ties with the region are strong.
Cevahiroğlu emphasized that Turkish companies are ready to actively take part in strategic projects aimed at the economic development of Balkan countries.
SATKON's Goals
SATKON Chairman Ali Altuntaş stated that the Balkan geography is an important gateway for Turkey to Europe.
Altuntaş expressed that as a confederation, they want to pioneer joint work and projects in the fields of health tourism and technology.
