Education Suspended for One Day in Tokat Due to Health Complaints
Comprehensive disinfection work was initiated in schools across the city center in Tokat following a surge in health complaints.
Following a high volume of visits to healthcare facilities in the city center of Tokat with complaints of nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, education was suspended for one day to allow for detailed disinfection work in educational institutions.
Increase in Healthcare Visits
The number of citizens applying to healthcare facilities in the city center of Tokat in recent days with complaints of nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea reached a total of 2,914 people.
Decision Made for Disinfection Works
In a statement made by the Tokat Governorate, it was reported that detailed disinfection work would be carried out in educational institutions in the city center due to the complaints observed starting from the evening of Friday, October 9.
Scope of the Educational Suspension
In line with the decision taken, education and training were suspended for one day on Monday, October 12, in all formal and non-formal public and private educational institutions and rehabilitation centers in the city center.
Administrative Leave Announced
Within the scope of this decision, taken to ensure that the disinfection works are carried out more efficiently and under sterile conditions, disabled and pregnant personnel working in public institutions and organizations on the same day will also be considered on administrative leave.
Drinking Water Inspections Continue
While the collected drinking water samples were sent to Ankara for analysis, citizens were warned not to use tap water for drinking and food preparation under any circumstances until the laboratory results are announced.
