Enver Altaylı's Testimony in Kaşif Kozinoğlu Investigation Tied to Health Status

Within the scope of the reopened investigation into the death of former MIT officer Kaşif Kozinoğlu in prison in 2011, it was stated that the testimony of Enver Altaylı, who is convicted in another case, will be taken if his health condition improves.

Resumption of the Investigation

The investigation initiated by the Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the death of former MIT officer Kaşif Kozinoğlu in prison in 2011 is continuing at full speed.

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek had announced that the file was re-examined by the Department of Investigation of Unsolved Crimes and that the decision of non-prosecution was lifted with the decision of the Silivri Criminal Judgeship of Peace, reopening the investigation.

Enver Altaylı's Status

It was learned that the testimony of Enver Altaylı, whose prison sentence in the FETÖ trial was upheld in 2024, has not yet been taken in the investigation file due to health problems.

Authorities reported that Altaylı's testimony will be consulted within the scope of the investigation if his health condition improves.

Detention and Arrest Procedures

While a confidentiality order was issued within the scope of the reopened investigation, judicial proceedings were initiated against 11 suspects who were on duty in the prison at the time of the incident, 10 of whom were detained.

As a result of subsequent operations and the expanded investigation, numerous people, including former prosecutors, prison directors, journalists, and healthcare workers, were detained.

Judicial Process and Exhumation

In the later stages of the investigation, an exhumation procedure was carried out to determine Kozinoğlu's exact cause of death, and various names gave statements as persons with knowledge.

While the number of arrested individuals increased in the ongoing judicial process, judicial control measures were applied to numerous suspects.
