Health Awareness Instilled in Children at an Early Age in Mersin
A thematic program organized within the framework of Public Health Week aimed to help children acquire healthy lifestyle habits and disaster awareness.
In partnership with the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality, an education and awareness program themed 'Healthy Child, Healthy Future' was held at the Toroslar Children's Campus and Halkkent Children's Workshop on the occasion of Public Health Week.
Scope and Purpose of the Event
With the project implemented by the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality on the occasion of Public Health Week, it was aimed for children to acquire health awareness and healthy lifestyle habits at an early age.
Expert Staff and Stakeholders
At the program held at the Toroslar Children's Campus and Halkkent Children's Workshop, children and parents came together with healthcare professionals who are experts in their fields.
Psychologists, child development specialists, physiotherapists, dietitians, dentists, and midwives, along with teams from the Red Crescent and UMKE, took part in the event.
Educational Games and Topics
In the trainings enriched with games and practical applications, topics such as healthy nutrition, active living, and personal hygiene were covered.
Additionally, comprehensive information was provided on vital subjects such as oral and dental health, mental health, disaster awareness, and first aid.
Health Ambassador Goal
With this meaningful event, it was aimed for children to become individuals who can protect their own health and make the right decisions.
An important step was taken for children to become health ambassadors by sharing the knowledge they acquired with their families and surroundings.
