Schools and health units in Hanoi are conducting free health screenings prior to the new academic term and carrying out environmental fumigation efforts against epidemic diseases.
With the new academic year approaching shortly in Hanoi, schools and health departments are organizing free health check-ups for students through a joint effort, while simultaneously carrying out comprehensive environmental cleaning and fumigation activities against potential epidemic risks.
Free Health Check-ups
Under the coordination of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training and the Department of Health, efforts are underway to complete student health check-ups ahead of the new school year. Within this scope, free health screenings were conducted for approximately 1,600 students at Chuong Duong Primary and Secondary School.
Class-by-Class Process
School principal Nguyen Thi Van Hong stated that student lists were reviewed in advance and examinations were scheduled on a class-by-class basis to prevent overcrowding. Thanks to these meticulous preparations, the entire process proceeded very smoothly.
Health Screenings in Kindergartens
At La Phu Kindergarten located in An Khanh commune, health check-ups for children were carried out through the collaboration of doctors and nurses. This activity constitutes part of the free periodic health check-up program for children under six years old implemented by the An Khanh Commune People's Committee.
Alleviating the Burden on Parents
Bui Thu Huong, Vice Chairman of the An Khanh Commune People's Committee, emphasized that providing this service in schools reduces the financial burden on parents' shoulders and ensures that every child has access to equal medical care. Early screenings contribute to preventing infectious disease outbreaks in the school environment.
Environmental Cleaning and Fumigation
At Chuong Duong Primary and Secondary School, fumigation was carried out by health personnel to eliminate mosquitoes and insects. Prior to this fumigation process, comprehensive cleaning work was carried out in the school yard, completely eliminating stagnant water and mosquito breeding sites.
Basis for Electronic Records
This comprehensive free health check-up and disease prevention program implemented for students in Hanoi also forms an important basis for updating students' electronic health records.
