Health Discussion Between As-Suwayda Governorate and Doctors Without Borders
Local authorities and an international delegation met to discuss supporting health centers in As-Suwayda and addressing needs in rural areas.
As-Suwayda Governor Mustafa Al-Bakour received a delegation from Doctors Without Borders to discuss steps to support health centers throughout the province and mechanisms for cooperation.
Support for Health Centers
As-Suwayda Governor Mustafa Al-Bakour met with Doctors Without Borders Switzerland Head of Mission Kristina Falconi, Project Coordinator Almira Biljalovikova, and Deputy Head of Mission Farah Al-Issa at the governorate building.
During this official meeting, the strengthening of health centers across As-Suwayda and the activation of existing support mechanisms were discussed in detail.
Needs in Rural Areas
According to the statement made by the As-Suwayda Governorate on its Telegram channel, it was decided during the meeting to identify the urgent needs of the health centers recently opened in the rural areas of the province.
Carrying out a comprehensive study to accurately determine these needs and taking joint steps in this direction were among the main topics discussed at the meeting.
International Cooperation and Coordination
Abbas Al-Sulaiman, Director of International Cooperation at the As-Suwayda Governorate, also attended the meeting held at the governorate building, contributing to the joint work to be carried out.
On the other hand, As-Suwayda Governor Mustafa Al-Bakour had also met with a delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross at the beginning of the month to discuss development support to be provided to the region.
