Health Minister Memişoğlu Announces Health Mobilization Across 81 Provinces

Announcing the launch of a health mobilization across 81 provinces on the occasion of Public Health Week, Health Minister Memişoğlu shared comprehensive information regarding preventive health services, screenings, and family medicine efforts.

Public Health Week Begins

In a statement via his social media account, Health Minister Memişoğlu announced that they have set out with a single goal for 81 provinces and 86 million people to achieve a healthier Turkey.

Stating that they will be in the field for 7 days with 7 different themes across 81 provinces throughout the week, Minister Memişoğlu drew attention to the importance of preventive health services.

Family Health and Life Centers

Emphasizing that they have advanced preventive health services further under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Memişoğlu conveyed that they possess a wide service network.

He reported that services are currently provided in 8,401 Family Health Centers with 31,000 family physicians, and support is also offered in 17 different fields across 357 Healthy Life Centers.

Maternity Journey and Screenings

Stating that they have accompanied citizens on their healthy living journey with 26 million applications in the last 2 years, the Minister said they provide guidance through maternity schools and mobile applications.

It was stated that 158 million chronic disease screenings were carried out within the scope of early diagnosis and preventive steps, reaching millions of citizens.

Combating Cancer and Addiction

It was noted that thanks to free cancer screenings, the disease was detected in the early stages in thousands of citizens and treatment processes were initiated.

Within the scope of the fight against cigarette addiction, it was announced that the number of Smoking Cessation Polyclinics increased by 260 percent to 1,678.
