Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu stated that law is the element of trust in healthcare services during his speech at the Presidential Legal Policies Board Meeting held at the Çankaya Mansion. Emphasizing the need for a strong and qualified legislative infrastructure for the sustainability of physical investments, Memişoğlu expressed that they work with a human-centered approach.

Consultation Meeting at Çankaya Mansion

Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu attended the meeting held at the Çankaya Mansion under the chairmanship of Mehmet Uçum, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Legal Policies Board. Wishing the new judicial year to be auspicious in his speech, Memişoğlu stated that policy boards are important consultation mechanisms that provide a multi-faceted perspective to public administration. He noted that law and health are two fundamental areas that complement each other in the state order.

Health Infrastructure and Legislative Need

Stating that Turkey has achieved a historic transformation in its health infrastructure, Minister Memişoğlu said that the system has reached an exemplary structure with city hospitals and renewed technological facilities. Expressing that a qualified legislative infrastructure is essential alongside strong investments for the sustainability of this physical development, Memişoğlu emphasized that regulations are the implementation tools in the field and the guarantee of citizens' rights.

Comprehensive Legislative Studies

Reminding that more than 160 legislative regulations have been implemented since July 2024, ranging from preventive health services to health tourism and the working areas of professionals, Memişoğlu stated that scientific data, field needs, and common sense are taken as the basis in the regulations. He noted that ensuring health workers have a safe working environment is among their priorities.

Violence in Health and Safe Working Environment

Stating that the most important foundation that enables health workers to perform their duties in safety is the law, Memişoğlu touched upon the importance of strengthening legal mechanisms to prevent violence in health and increasing deterrence. The strengthening of legal regulations that protect physicians against risks is being continued with determination.

National Health Technologies and Future Vision

Stating that domestic medicines, vaccines, and medical devices are being developed with internal resources under the vision of a producing health sector, Memişoğlu said that protecting the rights of national health technologies is of great importance. Prof. Dr. Serkan Topaloğlu, Deputy Chairman of the Health Policies Board, expressed that effective health policies are only possible with a strong legal infrastructure.

Digital Transformation and Zero Tolerance Principle

Mehmet Uçum, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Legal Policies Board, conveyed that significant digital reforms in health have been implemented with applications such as e-Nabız, ITS, and MHRS. Uçum emphasized that as legal boards, zero tolerance against violence in health is a fundamental principle and the fight against it is being continued with determination through the 'White Code' system.
