A new program connecting hospitals with local health stations is being implemented in Ho Chi Minh City. Through this program, the expertise and resources of higher-level hospitals will be transferred to health centers, aiming to strengthen healthcare services closest to the public.

The Main Purpose of the Program

The new program implemented in Ho Chi Minh City connects hospitals with 168 commune, ward, and special zone health stations. This initiative aims to increase the capacity of the grassroots health system closest to the public by sharing hospitals' resources, experiences, and responsibilities.

Specialized Packages and Support

A general hospital or specialized hospital will regularly work alongside each health station. These hospitals will develop basic specialty capacity packages to bring in-depth knowledge and skills closer to primary healthcare.

Overcoming Challenges

It is known that health centers face challenges such as shortages of doctors and staff, and inadequate facilities and equipment. This program is designed not to add additional workload to the stations, but to provide resource and expertise support from the entire hospital system.

Implementation and Success Criteria

Within the scope of the program, doctors and health personnel are expected to participate in rotations, on-the-job training, practical guidance, and skill transfer. The measure of success is the development of station capacity and the increase in public trust.
