Istanbul Medical Chamber Responds to Ministry of Health Regarding Vaccines and Audits
In a statement, the Istanbul Medical Chamber stated that the flu vaccine is unavailable across Turkey and called on the ministry.
The Istanbul Medical Chamber Family Physicians Commission held a press conference against the Risk-Based Audit System, sharing deficiencies and vaccine problems in the healthcare field with the public.
Reason for the Press Statement
The Istanbul Medical Chamber Family Physicians Commission held a press conference regarding the Risk-Based Audit System (REDES), which was implemented by the Ministry of Health to detect irregularities and the misuse of public resources.
Flu Vaccine Unavailable
ITO Board Member Dr. Emrah Kırımlı stated that the flu vaccine is unavailable in Istanbul and most of Turkey. He emphasized that the ministry should investigate this risk instead.
Allegations of Pressure on Healthcare Workers
In the statement, it was argued that the REDES application has turned into a tool of pressure on family physicians and healthcare workers. Attention was drawn to the problems the practice creates in the field.
Criticism of Vaccine Policies
Speaking at the meeting, Recep Koç stated that the ministry does not have a clear policy on vaccines, flu vaccines are inadequate, and HPV vaccines are not included in the vaccination schedule.
