Signing Ceremony and Participants
The Memorandum of Understanding outlining cooperation in the health sector between Vietnam and the United States of America was signed in an official ceremony held on the afternoon of September 11.
Co-Chairs of the Signing Ceremony
The signing ceremony was co-chaired by Vietnamese Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan and U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam Jennifer McNamara Wick, reinforcing diplomatic and institutional ties between the two nations.
Areas Covered by the Cooperation
Under the memorandum, joint efforts will be carried out in areas such as disease prevention and control, medical examination and treatment, health workforce training, and the development of local health system capacity.
Goals in Technology and Medical Equipment
Mutual cooperation between the two countries was also confirmed in the fields of pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, digital transformation, and technology transfer.
Five-Year Strategic Partnership
U.S. Ambassador Jennifer McNamara Wick emphasized that this five-year agreement serves as a continuation of the long-standing partnership between the two parties.
New Strength in Combating Diseases
It was stated that the agreement will significantly strengthen Vietnam's capacity to control HIV and tuberculosis prevention programs.
