A new step towards transparency has been taken to increase the reliability of fresh products offered for consumption.
Migros, one of Turkey's leading supermarket chains, announced that it has made the pesticide control analysis results of its fruit and vegetable products accessible to customers via digital channels.
Access to Analysis Results via Digital Channels
Migros has started sharing the pesticide control analysis results for the fruits and vegetables on its shelves with the public through digital platforms. With this practice, consumers will be able to see the inspection details of the products they purchase.
Product Safety and Control Processes
Migros Group Marketing Executive Board Member Ekmel Baydur made statements regarding the company's inspection policies in the fresh food category. He stated that pesticide and heavy metal analyses are carried out regularly on fruits and vegetables.
Ekmel Baydur expressed that fresh fruit and vegetable products undergo strict controls before being placed on the shelves and that they attach great importance to traceability efforts.
Ministry Cooperation and Past Practices
The supermarket chain's work in the field of food safety dates back to past years. Within the scope of the cooperation carried out with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in 2010, the company had offered products certified with Good Agricultural Practices for sale on its shelves.
