Millions of Screenings Carried Out in Family Health Centers
According to data announced within the framework of Public Health Week, the health status of millions of citizens was examined within the scope of preventive health services.
Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu announced that millions of chronic disease screenings have been conducted in family health centers over the past two years, resulting in a large number of early diagnoses.
Two-Year Screening Data
In his statement on the occasion of Public Health Week, Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu announced that thanks to 158 million chronic disease screenings carried out in family health centers over the past two years, more than 14 million early diagnoses were made and timely interventions were performed for diseases.
Family Medicine Operations
Stating that early diagnosis and regular monitoring processes against chronic diseases are meticulously carried out by 31,000 family physicians working in more than 8,000 family health centers, Memişoğlu emphasized that preventive health services will be strengthened.
Public Health Week Theme
The statement conveyed that the theme for the 5th day of Public Health Week this year was determined as "Age Well with Health, Stay Healthy," drawing attention to increasing risk awareness, regular monitoring, and early intervention in diabetes, hypertension, obesity, kidney disease, COPD, stroke, and cardiovascular diseases.
Healthy Life Centers
It was also noted that Healthy Life Centers operating in 81 provinces offer free consultancy services in areas such as smoking cessation, healthy nutrition, physical activity, chronic diseases, and elderly health.
