The Ministry of Health has restructured home healthcare services, allowing citizens over 80 to process health reports and medication procedures at home without visiting a hospital. Additionally, work is ongoing on a new system to simplify processes for patients using prescribed medications.

Restructuring of Home Healthcare Services

The Ministry of Health has restructured home healthcare services to ensure that elderly and bedridden individuals can access healthcare without needing to go to a hospital. Home healthcare, telehealth, palliative care, and family medicine have been organized to work in coordination, and home healthcare coordination centers have been established.

Palliative Critical Care and Remote Monitoring

Palliative critical care areas have been defined for patients who have completed intensive care treatment but remain machine-dependent, and total capacity has been increased. Patients sent home are now monitored remotely via electronic systems, enabling remote examinations and prescription issuance.

Home Healthcare for Citizens Over 80

To eliminate the need for elderly citizens to visit hospitals, medication, medical supplies, and disability health reports for individuals over 80 are now being processed in their homes. The prescribing authority of family physicians has been expanded, making an additional 1,859 medications available for prescription.

New System Development for Prescribed Medications

As part of joint preparations with the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the goal is to remove the requirement for patients using prescribed medications to obtain a new prescription every time. The plan allows patients to receive their monthly doses directly from pharmacies for the duration of their six-month medication report.
