The Ministry of Health has officially announced the 2026 Private Hospitals Planning Announcement, which closely concerns the private hospital sector.
Approval Process of the Planning
The planning, announced to the public by the Ministry of Health General Directorate of Health Services on August 24, 2026, was approved with the Ministerial Approval dated August 18, 2026.
Covers Three Important Areas
The published new regulation basically covers three main areas: opening new private hospitals, planning additional staff for private hospitals, and planning additional patient beds for existing hospitals.
New Investments Subject to Planning
New private hospital investments will be carried out within the framework determined by the Ministry in line with the healthcare service needs across the country, not solely depending on the investor's demand.
Regulation in Physician Staff
Additional staff to be planned for private hospitals to provide services in new areas of expertise or to increase their capacity in existing branches will be evaluated according to the determined criteria.
Patient Bed Capacity Increase
The expansion of bed capacities of existing private hospitals to create new services and increase their service scale will also be addressed within the scope of the Ministry's planning system.
