People's Hospital 115 Opens Second Facility in Con Dao Special Zone

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health has announced that the Con Dao Special Zone Military-Civilian Medical Center will merge with People's Hospital 115 to establish the hospital's second facility.

Decision and Rationale for the Merger

Due to the geographical characteristics of the Con Dao Special Zone and the difficulties in transferring emergency patients to the mainland, the health sector determined that the unit undertaking this responsibility must have the capacity for on-site emergency care, resuscitation, and multidisciplinary treatment.

Recommendation by the Ministry of Health

Accordingly, the Ministry of Health recommended that the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee merge the Con Dao Special Zone Military-Civilian Medical Center with People's Hospital 115 to establish the second hospital facility on the island.

Role and Services of the New Facility

In addition to directly organizing medical examinations and treatment at its second facility, People's Hospital 115 will serve as a professional backup support for the Con Dao Special Zone Health Station.
