Realistic fire drill at Serik State Hospital
A comprehensive fire and evacuation drill was conducted at Serik State Hospital in Antalya in accordance with the Hospital Disaster Plan.
A fire drill was organized at Serik State Hospital in Antalya within the framework of the 2026 Hospital Disaster Plan. In the realistic scenario, patients, patient relatives, and hospital staff were safely evacuated.
Purpose and Scenario of the Drill
A drill was conducted at Serik State Hospital to strengthen preparations against fires and increase coordination between teams. According to the scenario, a fire broke out in the surgical service on the second floor of the hospital.
Evacuation and First Response Process
Following the activation of the fire alarm, emergency announcements were made throughout the hospital. Within the scope of the scenario, staff, patients, and patient relatives were safely taken outside, and individuals affected by smoke were treated by Emergency Service teams.
Inter-Institutional Coordination
The National Medical Rescue Team and fire departments carried out practices aimed at the rapid evacuation of patients, fire intervention, and ensuring inter-institutional coordination in the event of a potential fire.
Evaluations by the Chief Physician
Serik State Hospital Chief Physician Specialist Dr. Serkan Kurt stated that fire drills are of great importance, especially in older hospitals. Kurt emphasized that such organizations help identify shortcomings and improve the staff.
