Statement on National Cancer Screening Program from the Ministry of Health
While millions of citizens were screened within the scope of the National Cancer Screening Program, thousands of early diagnoses were made.
Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu announced that a total of 17.4 million cancer screenings have been conducted within the framework of the National Cancer Screening Program since July 2024.
Screening Numbers and Centers
Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu stated in a social media post that 17.4 million screenings have been carried out through the National Cancer Screening Program since July 2024.
Minister Memişoğlu stated that the number of screening centers across the country has been increased to 493 and the number of mobile cancer early diagnosis and screening centers (KETEM) to 60.
Breast Cancer and Early Diagnosis
During this ongoing process, breast cancer screenings for 5.1 million citizens were successfully carried out.
As a result of the screenings, 300 thousand suspicious findings were detected, making a significant contribution to 21 thousand citizens receiving an early-stage diagnosis.
Mobile Services and Information
Direct health services on-site were provided to 570 thousand citizens via mobile KETEM vehicles.
Additionally, citizens were invited to screenings through 99 million reminder SMS messages sent.
