Student health check-ups begin in the majority of schools in Dong Nai

With the start of the 2026-2027 academic year in Dong Nai, more than eighty percent of schools have announced that they are organizing health check-ups for students.

Current Status of Health Check-ups

In a statement made by Do Thi Nguyen, Director of the Dong Nai Department of Health, on September 26, it was reported that a large portion of the schools in the province had completed their health check-ups at the beginning of the academic year.

It was stated that the remaining schools are continuing these processes in coordination with authorized health institutions and aim to finish the program by October.

Criteria Examined During Examinations

It was emphasized that this annual health screening at the beginning of the school year is among the essential school health services and ensures the close monitoring of students' conditions.

It was noted that, within the scope of the checks, basic indicators such as height, weight, blood pressure, vision, and mental health, as well as specific examinations appropriate for age groups, are carried out.

Ministry of Health Demands and Follow-up

The Ministry of Health requests educational institutions to act in close cooperation with health organizations during the process of creating health records.

Great care is taken to closely monitor students carrying risks such as scoliosis, obesity, refractive errors, and malnutrition.

General Education Overview and Targets

In the 2026-2027 academic year, there are a total of 707 schools serving more than one million students at all levels across Dong Nai.

These checks are part of the nationwide free health screening program aimed at screening every citizen by the end of 2026.
