Three People Hospitalized in Bolu Due to Fly Spray Odor
An asthma patient and two medical personnel were hospitalized after being affected by the odor spreading following fly spraying in Bolu.
Following street fly spraying in Bolu, an elderly woman with asthma and two medical workers who arrived to assist fell ill and were hospitalized due to the spreading odor.
Incident Following Spraying
Active moments occurred on Işıklı Street in the Karamanlı Neighborhood during the night hours after vehicle-based fly spraying was conducted on the street in Bolu. Following the spraying work around 01:00, 76-year-old asthma patient S.U. began experiencing shortness of breath. Realizing the situation, her relatives asked for help from medical teams.
Intervention by Medical Teams
Medical teams dispatched to the address upon notification entered the apartment to reach the elderly woman. Two medical workers trying to reach the apartment were also affected by the intense odor and fell ill. Following the incident, numerous backup teams were dispatched to the region.
Intervention and Dispatch Efforts of Teams
In addition to the backup medical teams dispatched to the area, police, AFAD, and fire department teams took security measures at the scene. S.U. and the two medical workers, whose initial interventions were performed at the scene, were taken by ambulances to the Bolu İzzet Baysal State Hospital Köroğlu Unit on suspicion of being affected by the fly spray odor.
Inspection and Investigation Process
Following the hospitalization of the individuals, AFAD teams conducted a detailed inspection in the apartment where S.U. lived. While it was stated that no negative findings were encountered in the initial checks, the investigation regarding the incident is ongoing.
