88 Social Media Accounts Spreading Disinformation Were Shut Down
88 social media accounts that threatened national security and conducted Israeli propaganda were blocked through the coordinated efforts of authorized institutions.
Within the scope of efforts carried out to protect Turkey's digital security, 88 accounts targeting national security and spreading Israeli propaganda on the X platform were blocked from access.
Identified Through Coordinated Efforts
Taking action to protect Turkey's digital borders, the Presidency of Communications did not allow black propaganda networks on social media platforms. As a result of the efforts carried out under the coordination of the institution, accounts systematically spreading disinformation via the X platform were identified.
Accounts Conducting Israeli Propaganda
During the examinations carried out under the coordination of the Presidency of Communications, it was determined that the accounts in question were conducting Israeli propaganda. Legal action was initiated regarding 88 X accounts sharing content that directly threatens national security, and an access ban decision was implemented.
Access Ban and Investigations
It was observed that the profiles of the closed accounts displayed the phrase "Account Withheld". It was revealed that the accounts identified through the joint work of relevant institutions made systematic posts aimed at misleading the public. While the digital traces of the closed accounts are being erased, it was learned that investigations into other networks carrying out similar activities are ongoing.
