Access Block Imposed on 246 Social Media Accounts Over Misleading Posts for Investors
Accounts making posts that created panic in capital markets were shut down upon instructions from the prosecutor's office.
In line with an investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, an access block decision was issued for 246 social media accounts determined to have made speculative posts about capital market instruments intended to create fear and panic among investors.
Details of the Investigation
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an ex officio investigation against social media accounts determined to have engaged in speculation regarding capital market instruments.
Within the scope of this ongoing legal process, the activities of accounts attempting to mislead investors were placed under review.
Inter-Institutional Coordination
The investigation is being conducted under the joint coordination of the Capital Markets Board and the Cyber Crimes Department of the General Directorate of Security.
Relevant units continue their joint work meticulously in order to protect market order.

It was officially reported that access bans were imposed on 246 accounts identified as having made posts that would cause fear and panic among investors.
