In the decision issued by the Diyarbakır Criminal Judgeship of Peace, it was reported that access was blocked to 99 social media accounts determined to have engaged in disinformation activities against the Narin Güran trial, despite the Court of Cassation's final judicial ruling.
Narin Güran Investigation and Judicial Process
Eight-year-old Narin Güran went missing on August 21, 2024, in the rural Tavşantepe neighborhood of Diyarbakır's Bağlar district, and her lifeless body was found in the Eğertutmaz Stream on September 19.
Within the scope of the investigation launched after the incident, the court process was conducted rapidly, and the case was concluded on December 28, 2024.
Prison Sentences Given to Defendants
Narin's mother Yüksel Güran, her uncle Salim Güran, and her brother Enes Güran were sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment for the crime of premeditated murder of a child acting in concert.
Their neighbor Nevzat Bahtiyar, who carried the lifeless body to the stream, was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison for the crime of destroying, concealing, or altering evidence of a crime.
Court of Cassation Ruling and Retrial
While upholding the sentences given to the Güran family, the Court of Cassation reversed the verdict by requesting that the defendant Nevzat Bahtiyar be tried for aiding and abetting premeditated murder.
Following the reversal decision, Nevzat Bahtiyar appeared before the judge again and was sentenced to 17 years in prison as a result of the trial.

Following the judicial process, father Arif Güran started a justice march for his daughter Narin, and evaluations were made during meetings held within this scope claiming that the sentences given were a legal fiasco.
