Access blocked to 94 provocative X accounts threatening national security
Accounts that endangered national security by spreading fake news on social media, including profiles with FETÖ ties, were shut down.
As a result of efforts carried out under the coordination of the Directorate of Communications, a total of 94 provocative X accounts targeting social peace and spreading disinformation were blocked from access by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
Investigation and Coordination Process
The Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office took action on social media platforms in line with the coordinated efforts of the Directorate of Communications.
Distribution of Closed Accounts
It was determined that 54 out of the total 94 blocked X accounts targeted social peace and threatened national security.
Eighteen accounts determined to be affiliated with FETÖ and 22 accounts manipulating developments in the Gulf and the Middle East were also among those shut down.
Detection of Provocative Activities
As a result of the investigations, it emerged that the accounts whose access was blocked were actively operating in provocative agenda-setting efforts.
