Within the scope of the obscene content investigation conducted by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, access to a total of 58 accounts and websites was blocked by court order.

Initiation of the Investigation

The Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office initiated an investigation ex officio after determining that obscene content was being shared through accounts on the internet.

Access Blocking Request

During the assessment made by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was requested that the URL addresses be blocked and removed on the grounds that these posts aimed to disrupt public order.

Court Decision

Examining the request, the Bakırköy 4th Criminal Judgeship of Peace ruled to block access to 48 X accounts, 10 Instagram accounts, and 1 website.

Inter-Institutional Procedures

The Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) was notified in order to fulfill the requirements of the access blocking and content removal decision.
