Driver Caught After Dismantling Car in 15 Minutes Following Social Media Drift Video
A driver identified as drifting in Nevşehir was caught and penalized by police teams while trying to hide his vehicle by dismantling it into pieces within 15 minutes.
Taking action upon drift footage shared on social media in Nevşehir, traffic police identified the driver who tried to hide his car by quickly dismantling it, and imposed administrative and legal sanctions.
Investigation Initiated Upon Footage
Following footage shared on social media showing a car—whose license plate was initially unreadable—performing drifts in Nevşehir, teams from the Nevşehir Traffic Inspection Branch Office launched an investigation. As a result of the examinations, the vehicle and the driver's identity were determined in a short time.
Contradictory Statements and Warm Radiator Detection
During the initial checks carried out by police teams, the driver claimed that his vehicle had been in the industrial zone for about 15 days and was not in working condition. However, upon detailed examination, it was determined that the car's radiator water was warm, rendering this statement suspicious.
Dismantled the Car in 15 Minutes
In the ongoing investigation, it was understood that the driver towed his car to his workplace after the drift footage surfaced. It was determined that the individual removed the car's engine, some tires, and the steering wheel in approximately 15 minutes.
Attempt to Conceal and Penalties Applied
The driver, who was determined to have placed two repaired cars in front of his own vehicle to conceal it, was fined a total of 140,000 TL in administrative fines. In addition, his driver's license was suspended for 60 days, and the vehicle was towed to a trustee impound lot.
Legal Proceedings Initiated
The driver, against whom legal proceedings were initiated for endangering traffic safety, was handed over to the Martyr İsmail Arslan Police Station for the continuation of the investigation.
