A feud had started between two families in Mardin's Midyat district due to a debt dispute, and shepherd Musa Çelik was shot and killed with a long-barreled weapon.

As a result of the gendarmerie teams' efforts, village guard Şükrü Akçay and his brothers were detained, and at the end of the trial, Şükrü Akçay was sentenced to 12.5 years in prison for 'intentional murder'.

Provincial Police Department Public Order Branch Homicide Bureau teams determined that Akçay was hiding in a house in the Yeşilyurt Neighborhood of Adana's Seyhan district and carried out an operation.

Caught at the address by police teams, Şükrü Akçay was referred to the courthouse after the completion of his procedures at the police station and was sent to prison by the court he was brought before.
