Journalist Fatih Ergin, who was arrested on the grounds of a post he made on social media, was transferred from Metris Prison, where he was initially placed, to the Marmara No. 1 L Type Penitentiary Institution located in Silivri.
Prison Change Took Place
Journalist Fatih Ergin, who was initially sent to Metris Prison following the arrest decision issued against him, was transferred today to the Marmara No. 1 L Type Penitentiary Institution in Silivri.
Post and Correction Process
Ergin, who made a social media post regarding the Kaşif Kozinoğlu file, used the phrase 'former Forensic Medicine employee' while reporting the news of the death of Turgay Tamer, who had been detained and released within the scope of the investigation, and corrected his mistake shortly after by stating that Tamer served as a campus doctor in prison.
Investigation and Arrest
Although the same mistake was made by some pro-government print media outlets, an investigation was initiated solely against Ergin. The journalist, who had been detained twice before, was arrested and sent to prison on charges of publicly disseminating misleading information to the public.
