It was determined that the historical letter was left there on August 12, 1982, during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.
It was established that the person who wrote the letter was only a 10-year-old child at the time and had hidden the message to pass it on to future generations.

Homeowner Michelle Garwood, who found the letter, decided to share the note in a local Facebook group to reach a wide audience.
Shortly after the post, she reached Rachel Miles, now a 54-year-old teacher who was known at the time by her maiden name Rachel North.
