With the new security circular published by the Ministry of Interior, the measures to be implemented in and around university campuses have been expanded; student stands, protests, and social media accounts will be closely monitored.

Scope of the Circular and Institutions Notified

Prepared by the General Directorate of Provincial Administration of the Ministry of Interior, the circular titled 'Security Measures at Universities' was officially transmitted to the relevant institutions before the start of the 2026-2027 academic year.

Notification Requirement for Protests and Events

In line with the issued instructions, any protests and events planned to be organized at universities are required to be reported to law enforcement agencies in advance.

Initiating legal proceedings against individuals participating in these events when deemed necessary is also among the measures.

Restrictions on Opening Stands

It is aimed to prevent the opening of informational stands targeting students at strategic points such as university campuses, dormitories, bus terminals, and train stations.

With this measure, it is intended to obstruct the activities of individuals and groups evaluated as affiliated with terrorist organizations.

Monitoring of Social Media Activities

The newly adopted decisions have been expanded to cover not only physical areas but also various activities conducted by students through social media platforms.

Accommodation and Support Efforts

In addition to security measures, social policies were also included in the circular; accordingly, it is planned to place students experiencing accommodation problems or with insufficient financial means into public guesthouses.

Furthermore, it is envisioned to support students during this process by cooperating with various non-governmental organizations.
