Social media food inspection in Afyonkarahisar: Tons of products seized

Within the scope of inspections carried out in Afyonkarahisar, over 3.6 tons of food products marketed contrary to regulations, in an unhygienic manner, and past their expiration date via social media platforms were seized.
Joint operation organized
Food sales conducted via social media platforms across Afyonkarahisar were scrutinized by authorized institutions.
Teams from the Afyonkarahisar Provincial Directorate of Security and the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry carried out a joint study.
Sujuk and roasted meat seized
Inspections were carried out targeting the production and distribution points of products offered for sale via social media.
As a result of the examinations conducted by the teams, approximately 1.62 tons of sujuk and roasted meat products were identified and seized.
Cheeses placed under protection
During the work, dairy products such as tulum cheese and white cheese were also examined in detail.
Approximately 2 tons of cheese produced contrary to regulations, unhygienic, and past its expiration date were placed under protection.
Administrative procedures initiated
Legal processes were implemented against individuals and businesses determined to be operating in violation of regulations.
The Directorate of Security stated that inspections against such sales that threaten human health will continue with determination.
