80 Percent Completion Reached in Bursa Atatürk Sports Hall Construction
The physical realization rate of the 18,720-square-meter Atatürk Sports Hall project under construction in Bursa has reached 80 percent, and the hall's capacity has been increased to 5,000.
Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Şahin Biba inspected the ongoing Atatürk Sports Hall and announced that the physical realization of the project has reached the 80 percent level. The capacity of the facility, which was initially planned for 3,000 people, was increased to 5,000 people.
Construction Site Inspection
Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Şahin Biba conducted technical inspections at the construction site to review the latest status of the project on-site. Biba was accompanied during his inspections by AK Party Provincial Vice President Cem Kürşad Hasanoğlu, AK Party Osmangazi District President Adnan Kurtuluş, and municipal bureaucrats. Receiving information from the technical team about the work on site, the delegation inspected the completed manufacturing and ongoing works.
Capacity Increase and Facility Features
One of the notable changes in the project was made to the spectator capacity. The capacity of the hall, which was initially planned for 3,000 people, was increased to 5,000 people with the revision made. In the Atatürk Sports Hall, in addition to locker rooms for athletes, referees, and coaches, there will be spectator service areas, buffets, and management offices. A 40-vehicle indoor parking lot will also be constructed for the administrative section of the facility.
Completed and Ongoing Works
It was reported that reinforced concrete and steel construction works have completely finished in the project. It was noted that necessary retaining structures within the scope of roof cladding and landscaping have also been completed. Terrace insulation, mechanical manufacturing, interior plastering, hardscape applications, and facade works are stated to be continuing on site.
Goals and Future Plans
Stating that the remaining works will be completed meticulously, Şahin Biba said that the facility will be brought to Bursa as a modern and strong sports center. Expressing that they care about bringing children and youth together with sports more, Biba conveyed that with the completion of the hall, it is targeted to be offered for the use of both the people of Bursa and the athletes.
