Amateur Sports Contribution Fee Lawsuit Between Ministry of Youth and Sports and Galatasaray
The Ministry of Youth and Sports and Galatasaray have faced off over the amateur sports contribution fee for the Seyrantepe Sports Complex.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports has initiated legal proceedings against the Galatasaray club on the grounds that the annual amateur sports contribution fee for the Seyrantepe Sports Complex has not been paid.
Enforcement Proceedings and Lawsuit Process
The Ministry of Youth and Sports initiated enforcement proceedings against Galatasaray, stating that the annual amateur sports contribution fee included in the usage rights protocol for the Seyrantepe Sports Complex had not been paid.
Upon the Galatasaray club's objection to the enforcement proceedings, the proceedings were halted, after which the ministry filed a lawsuit demanding approximately 19 million liras in receivables along with bad faith compensation.
Defense from the Club Front
The lawyers of the yellow-red club argued that the relevant fee had actually been paid, claiming that the ministry was demanding retroactive differences, interest, and a recalculation of the debt for the year 2025.
