Amateur Sports Week to be celebrated with events in Denizli
Amateur Sports Week, organized across 81 provinces under the coordination of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, will kick off in Denizli with various events and a march.
Organized to encourage individuals of all ages to engage in sports and to increase interest in amateur sports, Amateur Sports Week will be celebrated in Denizli between October 5-11, 2026.
The Start of the Week in Denizli
Implemented simultaneously across 81 provinces by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Amateur Sports Week will meet with citizens in Denizli between October 5-11, 2026, as it will throughout Turkey.
Cortege March and Demonstrations
To draw attention to amateur sports, a cortege march accompanied by a marching band will be held on Wednesday, October 7 at 4:00 PM from in front of the Governorship to 15 Temmuz Şehitler Delikliçınar Square.
Tournaments in Various Sports Branches
Throughout the week, tournaments and events will be held in different sports branches such as chess, archery, table tennis, gymnastics, badminton, basketball, karate, and hemsball.
Activities in the Districts
Various sporting activities regarding the importance and significance of the week will also be organized in the districts of Denizli through District Youth and Sports Directorates.
Statements by Director Süleyman Erdoğan
Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Süleyman Erdoğan stated that Turkish sports rise on the shoulders of amateurs and expressed their aim to spread sports to every age group.
