Construction of New Sports Complex and Swimming Pool Continues in Gölcük
The giant facility being built by Gölcük Municipality in Düzağaç District will feature multi-purpose sports fields, spacious training areas, and a modern swimming pool.
With the new sports complex project under construction on a 12,500-square-meter area in the Gölcük district of Kocaeli, a second semi-olympic indoor swimming pool and new sports fields are being brought to the district.
Details and Capacity of the Giant Complex
Rising in the Düzağaç District, in the area opposite the August 17 Indoor Sports Hall, the project will have a total indoor usable area of 5,400 square meters. The complex will feature two basketball and volleyball courts that can serve different branches simultaneously.
The facility will also include a 1,140-square-meter indoor training area, a meeting room, and an outdoor parking lot for public use.
The District's Second Semi-Olympic Swimming Pool
Within the scope of the project, a 25-meter-long, 5-lane semi-olympic indoor swimming pool is being built in a separate building right next to the sports hall. This new facility will be the second indoor swimming pool in the Gölcük district.
Gölcük Mayor Ali Yıldırım Sezer stated that they attach great importance to bringing youth and citizens together with sports, and expressed that they aim to complete the works as soon as possible and open the complex for service.
