First Match Crests in Champions League Will Become Collectible Cards
Through a collaboration between UEFA and Fanatics, the special crests on the jerseys of footballers making their first appearance in the Champions League will be turned into signed collectible cards.
As a result of the collaboration between UEFA and Fanatics, a historic practice is being implemented in the Champions League. The special crests on the match jerseys of players making their debut in the tournament will be integrated into signed collectible cards after the match.
A New Era Begins
A completely new era for both football fans and collectors is officially beginning with the 2026-2027 season in the Champions League. A special application will be implemented for footballers making their debut in the tournament.
Debut Patch Application
In this innovation brought to life within the scope of the collaboration between UEFA and Fanatics, a small crest featuring the word 'Debut' and a star logo will be attached to the jersey of the player making their first appearance in the Champions League.
Transformation into Collectible Card
Carefully removed from the jersey after the match, this special crest will be sent to Topps, a company operating under Fanatics, and turned into a unique card featuring the player's autograph.
Scope and Details
This application will cover starting eleven players who spend at least one minute on the pitch and all substitutes who enter the game later. Names who wait on the bench and do not enter the match will remain outside of this application.
Future Plans
The new season matches will start on September eighth. In addition, this special application is planned to be expanded to the UEFA Europa League starting from the 2027-2028 season.
