Following Başakşehir's failure to achieve expected results in the opening weeks of the Trendyol Super Lig, club president Göksel Gümüşdağ made a clear statement regarding the future of head coach Nuri Şahin.

Season Start and Results

Failing to make the desired start to the 2026-2027 Trendyol Super Lig season, Başakşehir managed to defeat Kocaelispor in their opening match. However, the team suffered defeats against Trabzonspor, Galatasaray, and Amedspor in subsequent matches, and drew with Kasımpaşa. Most recently, the heavy 5-0 defeat against Amedspor raised question marks regarding head coach Nuri Şahin's future.

In a special statement to TRT Spor, Başakşehir President Göksel Gümüşdağ stated that they will continue with Nuri Şahin and that there are no issues regarding the coaching staff.
