As part of the 1.15 billion TL investment program prepared to strengthen the sports infrastructure in Bayrampaşa, the groundbreaking ceremony for the new sports complexes was held with the participation of Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak.
High Participation in the Groundbreaking Ceremony
Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak, along with protocol members and guests, attended the ceremony held on Şehir Parkı Street in Kocatepe Neighborhood.
Scope of the Investment and New Facilities
With an investment of 1.15 billion TL, the existing gym in Bayrampaşa will be demolished and replaced by a modern facility comprising a sports hall, a swimming pool, and sub-halls.
Additionally, within the scope of the project, the stand of the Bayrampaşa stadium will be renewed and offered for the service of the district residents.
The Role of Sports in Youth Development
Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak stated that sports provide self-confidence to youth and emphasized that it plays a critical role in combating digital addiction and drugs.
Youth Investments and Projects
It was announced that through the "No One Who Can't Swim Remains" project, approximately 12 million people have been taught how to swim, and the dormitory capacity nationwide has reached the level of 1 million.
Sports Data and Targets in Istanbul
Istanbul Governor Davut Gül shared new targets, stating that the number of school sports clubs in the city has increased significantly and the number of licensed athletes has risen.
