Halet Çambel Sports Complex Opened in Üsküdar
Built by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality in Üsküdar to serve in various branches, the new sports complex was opened with a ceremony.
Constructed with an investment of 1 billion liras by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality in Üsküdar, the Halet Çambel Sports Complex entered service with a ceremony.
Opening and Location of the Facility
The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's Halet Çambel Sports Complex in Küçüksu Neighborhood has officially entered service. Important statements were made during the opening program held in the complex's sports hall.
The Memory of Halet Çambel
Speaking at the opening of the facility, IMM Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan recalled that Halet Çambel, who gives her name to the facility, was one of the first female athletes to represent Turkey by participating in the 1936 Berlin Olympics.
Investment and Physical Features
It was announced that the sports complex was brought to life with an investment of 1 billion liras. The facility features a total of 12,500 square meters of indoor and outdoor areas within an 8,520 square meter project area.
Amenities and Goals of the Facility
The new facility includes a semi-olympic swimming pool, fitness and studio rooms, indoor sports halls, and outdoor basketball and volleyball courts. The project aims to provide sports services of 250,000 sessions to approximately 20,000 people annually.
Solution for Parking Needs
The 3-story underground parking lot with a capacity of 117 vehicles, located within the complex, was designed to contribute to meeting the parking needs in the region.
