Idle Public Buildings Converted into Sports Centers in Erzincan
With a project implemented under the coordination of the Governor's Office, idle spaces became gymnasiums, and thousands of children began receiving training in 21 different branches.
Through a project launched in Erzincan in 2024, idle public buildings were converted into sports centers and put into service for children, keeping thousands away from digital screens.
Idle Buildings Converted into Sports Centers
With the project launched in the city in 2024 under the coordination of the Governor's Office, it is aimed for children to spend their time outside of school productively. Unused sections of public institutions were transformed into sports centers.
Thousands of Children Met with Sports
In the project, where 24 sports clubs operate along with the districts, approximately 3,000 children aged 4-18 are trained under the guidance of 78 coaches. Training continues in a total of 21 branches.
Expenses Covered by Institutions
The expenses of each sports club participating in the project are covered by the public institution whose name it bears. Thus, children find the opportunity to receive free training in fields suitable for their talents.
New Centers and Goals
Governor Hamza Aydoğdu announced that new centers will open in four more neighborhoods within two months. Aydoğdu stated that Erzincan has been Turkey's champion in school sports for the past three years.
