Karatay Municipality 2026 Summer Sports Schools Closing Program

Completion of Summer Sports Schools
The 2026 term of the Summer Sports Schools, continued by Karatay Municipality since 2019, concluded with a closing program. The event held at Şehit Nihat Gün Facilities hosted colorful scenes.
Mayor Kılca's Statements
Karatay Mayor Hasan Kılca stated that children gained discipline, self-confidence, solidarity, and a fighting spirit through sports. Mayor Kılca emphasized that the true success was children believing in themselves.
Trained Branches and Process
Training was provided in 12 different branches: football, basketball, volleyball, taekwondo, judo, gymnastics, table tennis, traditional archery, tennis, swimming, wrestling, and kickboxing. A total of 3,670 athletes took lessons from expert trainers between July 6 and August 29, 2026.
Facility and Trainer Information
The trainings, lasting eight weeks, were carried out at 14 different facilities with a total of 58 trainers. At the end of the program, participating athletes closed the season with various performances.
Events at the Closing Ceremony
Within the scope of the summer sports schools closing program, taekwondo, illusion, wrestling, juggler, science, fireworks shows, and acrobatic basketball show events were presented to the participants.
Protocol and Participants
Protocol members, members of parliament, local administrators, athletes, coaches, families, and numerous citizens showed intense participation in the ceremony at Şehit Nihat Gün Sports Facility.
