The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued a 2-day precipitation warning for a large part of the country and announced that air temperatures will drop below seasonal norms starting from the middle of the week.

Weekly weather and precipitation outlook

The General Directorate of Meteorology has shared its weekly forecast report for the dates between September 20 and September 26, 2026. According to the report, precipitation will be effective across the country on Tuesday, September 22, and Wednesday, September 23.

Temperatures will drop below seasonal norms

According to MGM's assessments, air temperatures will begin to decrease starting from the northwestern parts on Tuesday. Temperatures are projected to drop below seasonal norms in the northern, inner, and western regions starting from the middle of the week.

Daily forecasts and areas receiving showers

While the country as a whole is expected to be partly and very cloudy; showers will be observed in the Taurus Mountains locality of the Eastern Mediterranean, the central Black Sea coasts, the Eastern Black Sea region, the northeastern part of Eastern Anatolia, and the surroundings of Bolu, Ankara, Kırıkkale, Tekirdağ, and Kırklareli.

Warning for haze and fog in the morning hours

Authorities warned that haze and localized fog events may occur during the morning hours in the eastern part of Marmara, the Inner Aegean, the inner parts of the Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, and the inner parts of the Black Sea.
