Millions of Liras in Support for Amateur Sports Clubs in Şanlıurfa

The Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality provided a total of 8 million 140 thousand TL in cash support to 109 amateur sports clubs that met the application requirements for the 2025-2026 season in order to support the development of amateur sports across the city. The support checks were presented to club managers.

Details of the Support Program

A special cash aid program was implemented by the Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality for amateur sports clubs operating in the 2025-2026 sports season.

Local administrators, federation presidents, and numerous athletes attended the ceremony held at the Disabled Coordination Center Conference Hall.

Support Amount Increased

A total financial resource of 8 million 140 thousand TL was transferred to 109 amateur sports clubs meeting the application conditions, and the support amount was increased by approximately 30 percent compared to the previous season.

During the process where a total of 110 clubs applied, the application of 1 club that did not meet the criteria was rejected.

Statements by Mayor Gülpınar

Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mehmet Kasım Gülpınar stated that sports play a critical role for children and youth in gaining discipline.

Gülpınar emphasized that they will continue to stand by amateur sports by expanding not only the amount of support but also its scope.

Infrastructure Scope Expanded

The Metropolitan Municipality decided to support not only the A-Team level this season, but also infrastructure efforts in a more comprehensive manner.

While the A-Team and one infrastructure category were supported last season, two additional infrastructure categories were included in the scope for the 2025-2026 season.
