In an incident at a gym in Sancaktepe, Istanbul, 39-year-old national coach Funda Bakış was stabbed to death by her former employee due to a debt dispute.
How the Incident Occurred
An argument broke out between 39-year-old national coach Funda Bakış and 21-year-old Zehra G., who previously worked at her business, at a gym located in Abdurrahmangazi Neighborhood in Istanbul's Sancaktepe district.
Debt Dispute
It was determined that there were financial disagreements between the two dating back to their past working period, that Zehra G. had taken out a loan while working and given the money to Funda Bakış, and that the argument arose from this issue.
Intervention of Medical Teams
As the argument escalated, Zehra G. stabbed Funda Bakış in the chest. Bakış, who was rushed to the hospital by medical teams dispatched to the address upon reports from bystanders, could not be saved despite all interventions.
Detention Proceedings
Following the fatal incident, police teams launched an investigation and detained a total of 3 people, including the suspect Zehra G. and A.H.U. and E.Ş., who were determined to be connected to the incident.
Criminal Records of the Suspects
Within the scope of the investigation conducted by police units, it was determined that the suspect Zehra G. had a prior criminal record for insult, while A.H.U. had a record for intentional injury.
